The point is that the invention and implementation of it to different spheres of our life has completely changed the way we live it. It has transformed the process of communication, study, search of information and even the way of thinking. But are all these changes positive?
First of all, the existence of the Internet doubtlessly had enormous effect on our lives. Furthermore, it brought more opportunities that had been unachievable before. As for the process of communication, it’s obvious that the appearance of the Internet has given us a chance to keep in touch with people from all over the world. We are able to hear and see our faraway relatives and friends as well as make a deal with clients and business partners from different continents. Moreover, we have unlimited access to any kind of information, which makes it easier to study and develop ourselves.
On the other hand, it’s disputable if we use all these advantages or not. The unlimited access to information can be treated as drawback, because people are not motivated to get knowledge. In addition, the information that is available for everyone is not so desirable any more. The vast majority of teenagers waste their free time surfing useless websites and chatting with each other. They stopped communicating face to face and don’t spend enough time outside. The problem is also that the Internet is like a drug for many people. More and more often we talk about the Internet addiction and how it ruins our lives.
As for me, I can see a lot of advantages and new opportunities that the Internet allows us to use. Nevertheless, we have to be vigilant and do not become addicted.

There are millions of Internet sites storing plenty of useful data about everything: science, history, psychology, sports, fashion, music, cooking and many other subjects. We can also download our favourite movies or songs, listen to radio channels or play games. Learning or practising foreign languages is possible with the Internet too.
The Internet saves our time and money. We can do on-line shopping choosing the desirable thing at the best price. And then we just click “Order the delivery”. By the way, we can also sell various things in the net. We often don’t need to go to the library: surfing the net can easily help us to find and open the book we need. Buying stamps and envelopes isn’t required if you’re going to send an e-mail. It takes just a few seconds to send an instant message by e-mail.
The Internet helps shy people or those with low-esteem to find each other on dating sites. On-line chatting through social networking websites is more comfortable for Internet users with the lack of social skills.

The Internet in my life
Computer technologies and the advent of the Internet have changed our life very much. Personally, I am strongly convinced that the Internet is a great invention.
Firstly, the net helps me to do my job. I work as a foreign language teacher and thanks to Internet I can teach my lessons online. I am at my home and my students are at their homes, but we can communicate personally or all together at the same time. Over more, I can conduct video lessons, do audio calls or just even send short messages in a chat room. It is easy, convenient and fast.
Secondly, the Internet saves my time and money. I can do on-line shopping choosing the desirable thing at the best price. For example, I need a new laptop. I visit websites of several online stores, choose the model of laptop, look at the price, read short describes and reviews. Further I compare information and buy the best laptop for me.
Thirdly, with the Internet I may get access to all needed information. There are millions of the Internet sites storing plenty of useful data about everything: science, art, history, sports, fashion, music, cooking and many other subjects. Also I can read books, listen to radio channels, download my favourite songs and movies.
And finally the most important argument. Two years ago I met my beloved girlfriend on the Internet. Next month we will have a wedding, and I am in seventh heaven. So, how can I not like the Internet? It is really changes my life for the better!

Во-первых, сеть помогает мне выполнять мою работу. Я работаю учителем иностранных языков и, благодаря интернету, могу проводить свои уроки онлайн. Я нахожусь у себя дома, мои ученики находятся в своих домах, но мы можем общаться лично или все вместе в одно и то же время. Более того, я могу проводить видео уроки, совершать аудио-звонки или даже просто отсылать короткие сообщения в чате. Это легко, удобно и быстро.

The Internet appeared just a few decades ago, but nowadays we can’t imagine our life without computers and the Internet. These things have become an important part of every person’s life. Many people believe that it is wrong, but others do not agree. Let us consider what the advantages and disadvantages of using the Internet.
The Internet is a global computer network, which embraces hundreds of millions of users all over the world. This technology helps us stay in touch with friends, relatives or colleagues and gives a wonderful opportunity to communicate with other people. Moreover, sitting in front of a computer and clicking a mouse, we can read news, download films or books, shop and play computer games. We also can learn something new: the Internet is a good educational platform, because the Net is full of free courses and educational websites.
From these facts, one may conclude that the Internet has become an essential part of our life. It helps people to work, communicate, learn and have fun. But on the other hand, we can observe that the net negatively influences people.
It seems that with the appearance of the Internet some people have become less activity. They spend a long of time sitting at the computers and don’t want to walk or do some physical exercises. As a result, such people destroy their health and become addicted to the Internet. They spend all days ling surfing the net, chatting, playing games or online-dating. For these people it is important to be online, but because of this they forget about their friends and lose interest in their hobbies. Of course, it is necessary to treat such Internet addiction.
In conclusion, I can say that using the internet has both advantages and disadvantages. People can blame the Net or praise it, but no one can deny the great role of the Internet. So, it is really an important invention, but people need to learn how to use the network, control themselves and separate useful information from useless.
