Learning languages plays a significant role in many people’s life. Some believe that it is easier to master Russian, whereas others find English a simpler language.
As for me, I support the second statement. To begin with, English grammar is not as difficult as Russian grammar. English is an analytic language, whose grammatical categories of tense and case are poorly expressed by means of inflection. Therefore, you do not have to memorize the numerous forms of conjugated and declined words. Additionally, English has a strict word order, which also simplifies building sentences.
However, there are people who have a different opinion. Firstly, they are sure that the rules of Russian spelling and pronunciation are not complicated unlike those of English. An English letter can be read in many ways; similarly, a particular sound can be spelt differently. Secondly, Russian has no articles, the use of which is always confusing for learners.
I cannot share the opposing position. Russian words have many forms because Russian is a synthetic language. As a result, its spelling and pronunciation, including word stress, can pose problems for Russian speakers themselves. The English alphabet has fewer letters and no special signs, which facilitates speaking and writing. As for the articles, you will have no difficulty using them once you understand their meanings.
In conclusion, I would like to say that English is easier than Russian due to its simple alphabet, grammar and syntax. If you practice regularly, you will certainly make progress in a short time.

The question of what is easier to learn – English or Russian – has been discussed for a long time. Some people think that Russian is more difficult to learn, whereas others do not agree. They believe that English is a more difficult language.
In my opinion, Russian is more difficult than English. First of all, Russian language has changing endings. For example, according to its pronouns the endings of adjectives change, which means a learner has to remember a lot of cases. In English they remain the same, she is clever, they are clever etc. Secondly, Russian has many more prefixes than English. For instance, almost for each verb one can add a few different prefixes that changes the meaning of the verb slightly or strongly.
Moreover, there are not really strict and logical rules in using these prefixes and endings.
At the same time there are people who believe that English is more difficult to learn. They say that pronunciation in English is not easy at all as well as writing. People joke saying, “One write Manchester but read Liverpool”.
Nevertheless, I cannot agree with the opinion mentioned above. Learning language consists of many sections. If a few of them are easier, it does not mean that the whole language is easier.
In conclusion, I would like to say there are opposing views on this issue. At first sight English seems more difficult, but in actual fact Russian is more complicated language to master. Thus, I still support the idea that English is easier to learn than Russian.

Personaly, I think that any language in the world is difficult, but Russian is one of the most difficult languages. First of all, Russian stresses are unpredictable. It is very difficult for foreign students to understand where to put the stress. Secondly, Russian language has six cases. Using a particular case means you have to change the words. It’s complicated for students whose native languages dont have cases. What is more, there are 33 letters and even more sounds in Russian language. Sometimes letters are pronounced differently than they are written.
Nevertheless, some people consider that learning Russian is no harder than learning other languages and at some points is easier. Once you learn the alphabet you can pronounce almost all words quite accurately. Moreover, Russian does not use complicated sentence structures like English. For example in English you would say something like ”

Learning foreign languages is always hard work. Are some foreign languages easier to learn than others? There is an opinion that Russian is easier to learn as a foreign language than English. The opposing opinion is also popular.
I support the opposing viewpoint. The main reason is that there are much more materials in bookshops and online for learning the English language than the Russian language. As a result, with this wide variety learning English is quicker, more effective and more interesting in comparison to learning Russian. In addition, using the Internet as a tool for leaning a foreign language is more effective with those students who try to master English but not Russian. For example, people from different countries communicate online in English. This gives an opportunity to English learners to practise their English and to develop their English skills. On the other hand, students who learn Russian as a foreign language lack this opportunity.
However, some Russian people argueRussian is easier to learn as a foreign language than English because it does not have so many dialects as English does. I do not agree with that. When students learn the most spread English, they will understand the other dialects.
To conclude, I strongly believe that English is easier to learn as a foreign language than Russian. There are more materials for learning English than Russian and more opportunities to practice it.

Learning foreign languages is always hard work. However, learning a native language is not easy too. Some people think that it is easier for Russian schoolchildren to learn Russian in comparison to English. Other people think that English as a school subject is easier than Russian.
I support the first viewpoint. The main reason is that Russian children live in the Russian speaking environment. They speak the language everywhere: at school and at home, when travelling around and relaxing. Moreover, they read books in Russian and watch films in Russian. Also, all the subjects are taught in Russian at school. As a result, they learn the language every minute either actively in Russian classes at school, or passively in everyday life. On the contrary, the time for learning the English language is restricted to two or three hours a week.
On the other hand, many people believe that English as a school subject is easier than Russian because its grammar does not have as many exceptions as the Russian grammar does. I do not agree with that. When students learn a foreign language besides grammar rules they have to master all the aspects of the language such as word formation, pronunciation and understanding the language. As I mentioned before, this can be done the best in this language speaking environment.
To conclude, I totally agree with the opinion that it is easier for Russian schoolchildren to learn Russian in comparison to English because they live and study in the Russian speaking environment.
