My Favourite Season
There are four seasons in a year: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Every season is beautiful in its own way.
When spring comes nature awakens from its long winter sleep. The days become longer and the nights become shorter. The ground is covered with emeraldgreen grass and spring flowers. The air is fresh, the sky is blue and cloudless, and the sun shines brightly. The trees are in full blossom. The nightingale begins to sing its lovely songs, and sweet melodies may be heard from every wood and park. The days are warm and everything is full of life and joy.
Spring is followed by summer. The weather is usually fine in summer, but it can be very hot, especially in July. Sometimes there are storms with thunder and lightning. In summer people try to get away from the city noise and spend more time in the open air. They pick mushrooms and berries in the forest, swim in the rivers and lakes, go fishing and boating. Most people prefer to have their holidays in summer.
Autumn begins in September. The days become shorter and the nights become longer. The leaves turn yellow, red and brown and fall to the ground. Most birds fly away to warm countries. There’s a short spell of dry sunny weather in September which is called Indian Summer. It’s a beautiful time when the sky is cloudless, the trees around are golden, the air is transparent and it’s still warm. But gradually it gets colder and colder. It often rains in October and November which makes autumn an unpleasant season.
In winter the sun sets early and rises late. The rivers and lakes are frozen over. Everything is covered with snow. Sometimes it’s very cold, about 25-30 degrees below zero. My Favourite Season — Autumn
I like autumn very much. The autumn months are: September, October, November.
In September summer yields to autumn. The days become shorter and the nights become longer. The sun rays are not so bright and warm. The fruit trees that not long ago bloomed with flowers are heavy with juicy apples and pears. Harvest time is a rush season for farmers. They gather sunflowers and maize, potatoes and cabbage, turnip and cucumbers, carrots and tomatoes. Early autumn is the period of flaming colours, when the landscape is gold and brown. In the daytime the silver gossamer is flying in the air. It’s a sign of the beautiful “Indian Summer”. But unfortunately this period of fine weather is very short and deep autumn follows it.
October is the best month for planting trees. People also prepare for winter. It is a season when the trees are fantastic — yellow, red, green and brown. The trees are loosing their leaves. Now the ground is like a carpet of many colours. It gets dark earlier and often heavy clouds cover the sky bringing rain. Birds don’t sing their songs. They begin to leave for warm countries.
November is the month of fog, rain and snow. Animals put on their winter coats. The landscape becomes rather dull.Nature slowly falls asleep for winter.
They say that autumn is a season of poets and philosophers, that’s why I really like it.

Октябрь — самый лучший месяц для посадки деревьев. Люди также готовятся к зиме. Это время, когда деревья фантастические — желтые, красные, зеленые и коричневые. Деревья теряют листья. Теперь земля похожа на разноцветный ковер. Темнеет раньше и часто тяжелые тучи покрывают небо, принося дождь. Птицы не поют свои песни. Они начинают улетать в теплые страны.
Ноябрь — месяц туманов, дождя и снега. Животные одеваются в зимние шкуры. Пейзаж становится довольно скучным. Природа медленно засыпает.

My favourite season is winter. Winter is a beautiful season. Some people like summer or autumn, but I am fond of winter. Winter months are December, January and February. But in Tatarstan the winter begins in November and ends in March or April.
I always look forward to this season. In winter the ground and trees are white with snow which crunches under your feet. The rime sparkles on the branches and the icicles like precious diamonds hang down from the roofs of the houses.
Winter is a great time for children! The children like to play hockey, skate and sledge, but I prefer skiing. It`s so nice toski in the wood on a frosty sunny day! Sometimes I with my friends have a fight with snowballs or make a snowman.
When winter is over, I am always sorry, that it was too short and has passed so quickly. And then I begin to look forward to the next winter.

However, my favourite season is summer. I choose summer not only because my birthday is in June, but also because it’s the time of holidays. Summer is the season when the sun shines brightly, the sky is rarely cloudy and the water in the sea becomes warm enough to swim. Even if it becomes too hot, you can always go for a walk in the shady woods. I also like summer because there are many berries, fruit and vegetables, not to mention numerous flowers on the fields. Among them roses, dandelions, daisies, and other flowers. Sometimes the air in summer becomes stuffy, but occasional thunderstorms bring relief. After the thunderstorms the air becomes remarkably fresh and very often we can see the rainbow in the sky.
Summer is also the time when I and my family go on holiday to the seaside. It’s a wonderful time, when we can have a rest from the intense academic year and relax. I think all children love summer because of long school holidays and I’m no exception. I also enjoy my free time, playing with my friends, watching TV, and doing other fun activities. Nevertheless, I don’t forget to do some useful reading from time to time.

There are four seasons in a year and all of them are good in their own way. However, the season I like most of all is summer.
First of all, it is a holiday time and I have enough spare time for my favorite activities and hobbies. I can go for a walk with my friends, ride a bike, play football and do some other fun activities.
Moreover, the weather in summer is fantastic. It is sunny and warm. So I can spend the whole day outside.

July I normally spend with my grandparents in the countryside. They have a small country house not far from Moscow. The air is really fresh there. My granny has a small garden and I enjoy an opportunity to eat fresh vegetables, fruit, and berries every day. Sometimes I go fishing with my grandfather. But mostly I spend time with my friends. When the days are especially hot we tend to swim in the lake. Besides, we can play different games together, so I never get bored there.

In August we normally go on holiday to the seaside with my parents. I really enjoy swimming, sunbathing as well as playing beach volleyball and badminton. Spending several weeks at the seaside is an ideal way to relax for me.
I believe that all children love summer because they do not have to wake up early, go to school and do homework. It is the time when pupils can have a rest from a tough academic year.

В августе мы с родителями обычно едем отдыхать на море. Мне очень нравится плавать, загорать, а также играть в пляжный волейбол и бадминтон. Провести несколько недель на море – это отличный способ отдохнуть для меня.

Summer is my favorite season of the year for many reasons. First of all, in summer schoolchildren have the longest vacations this time of the year.
Another reason why I like summer is that the weather is very warm, the days are long and the nights are short, and there are so many different ways for people to spend their holydays. For example, they can travel and visit other countries, cities, continents and islands, where they can learn something new, have a terrific time and meet new people. They also can go hiking with their friends and relatives.
The nature is beautiful in summer: the leaves on the trees and the grass are green and fresh. One can see different flowers blossoming everywhere: dandelions, marigolds, cornflowers and many others. One can gather various mushrooms and berries. Some people make pickles and jams for winter.
Of course, the weather is not always fine in summer, some days are rainy. It is wonderful to sit near the fireplace with a book and a cup of hot coffee on such days and to listen to the sound of the rain.
Summer is a great season because I don’t have any homework and I can do whatever I want. I usually spend most of my summer holidays with my grandparents in the village. I enjoy spending time there because I have a lot of friends there and we always find something interesting to do: we swim in the lake, we go fishing, ride our bicycles, play games, sing songs by the campfire and so on. I also help my grandparents in the garden. In the evening, I watch TV or read books.
At the end of August I return to the city to prepare for the new school year. I buy new clothes and stationary.

Еще одна причина, по которой мне нравится лето, это то, что погода очень теплая, дни долгие, а ночи короткие, и есть столько разных способов провести отпуск. например, можно путешествовать по другим странам, городам, континентам и островам, где можно узнать что-то новое, прекрасно провести время и познакомиться с новыми людьми. Spring is the time of nature awakening and flower blooming. Autumn can be rainy and yet beautiful, full of multi-coloured leaves.
However, my favourite season is summer. I choose summer not only because my birthday is in June, but also because it’s the time of holidays.
В году есть четыре времени года: зима, весна, лето и осень. Все времена года по-своему хороши. Зима, например, полна праздников, подарков и снега. Весна – это время пробуждения природы и цветения цветов. Осень может быть дождливой, но всё, же красивой и полной разноцветных листьев.
Однако моё любимое время года – это лето. Я выбираю лето, не только потому, что мой день рождения в июне, но и потому что это время каникул.
To my mind every season of the year has its own beauty. Autumn is attractive for its colourful landscapes. Winter is good for those who like mountain skiing, skating and hockey. Spring is wonderful because everything awakes after long and cold winter. But for me the best season is summer. One of the main reasons for that is of course summer holidays, which last for three months.

Almost everyone I know looks forward for summer holidays. It’s the longest period of time during the year when people can do whatever they like. Some of them prefer to spend time away from the city in their country houses. Others choose to spend most of their summer at the seaside or travelling. Any of these holiday plans are suitable for me.

For a number of reasons summer is my favourite time of the year. First of all, it’s the time of the longest holidays. Secondly, I love sunny weather and travelling. And, thirdly, my birthday is in August. That’s why each year I look forward for summer.

I’m used to spending summers at the seaside, as my aunt lives in Sochi. She is a hospitable woman and she is always happy to have guests. She lives far from the beach, but it’s not a big problem. We have to take a minibus to get to the central part and such trip lasts about half an hour. On a way to the sea there are hundreds of interesting sights.

In my opinion, summer months are the best, because of the longest holidays during the year. I think everyone needs a relaxing holiday after hard academic or work year. So, summertime gives this chance.

For most people summer is the best season of the year. That’s because they can go to the seaside, swim and sunbathe there, do the shopping for souvenirs, go out with friends. In that sense, I’m no exception.
One of my favouite pastimes is swimming in the sea. There are several open-air and indoor pools in our city, but I prefer the sea water, as it is full of useful minerals and chemical elements.

A village is a quiet, peaceful place outside the city, which is a perfect place for rest. My native village is situated in Azovsky District and it’s called Alexandrovka.

Introduction: Bangladesh is a land of six seasons. Each season appeals here with its full glory and gives nature a new look and colour. The rainy season is one of them. It is the second season of the Bengali year. Of all the season I like this seasons best.
Duration of the season: It covers the months of `Ashar’ and `Sraban’, But sometimes this season lasts up to `Ashwin’.
How caused: The south-west monsoon that blows over Bangladesh from the Bay of Bengal, brings in rains. The scorching heat of summer turns a large quantity of the sea-water into vapour. This vapour is cooled when it comes in contact with the cool air above. This cold vapour is then condensed in to cloud and causes rains.
Weather in this season: During this season, the weather remains dim. The sky remains covered with thick clouds. The sun rarely keeps through them. It rains almost all day long. Sometimes rain continues for days together. As a result, rivers, tanks, ponds, canals are full to the brim. Sometimes gusty winds blow accompanied with the flashes of lightning and the roars of thunder.
Why I like this season: I like this season for the following conditions.
(i) Nature in this season: After the severe hot days of summer, the rainy season comes with its refreshing showers to cool the heated nature. Green leaves are seen in trees. The brown and cracked fields of summer get a magical change. The meadows are carpeted with soft green. The cattle graze happily all day long. Tiny meadow flowers white, blue and yellow blossom in clusters everywhere. So, the heart of a poet after leaps up with joy at the sight of the natural beauty of this season. He becomes inspired to portray the beauty of this seasons in his poetic works.
(ii) Fishermen in this season: In this season, fishes are found in plenty in rivers, canals and ponds, So the fishermen have plenty of fishes and earn their bread well. To them, the rainy season is a boon.
Misery in this season: The rainy season is both a blessing and a curse. It is a curse on the poor shelterless people. Due to excessive rainfall, the country roads become muddy. The urban roads often become impassable. The rivers sometimes flood whole areas. These floods cause terrible havoc. Men and cattle are washed away. The houses, roads bridges and railway lines go under water. ‘In fact, the floods cut off the whole area from the outside world for days together and are often followed by famine and pestilence.
Conclusion: Bangladesh is ai agro-based country. So here, the importance of the rainy season is undeniable, from this point of view, it is a blessing to Bangladesh despite some of its drawbacks so I like this season very much.
