Dear Paul,
Hope you are ok. I thought I would let you know about a great day I had today.
I went with my family to the zoo. We had a really brilliant time there. There is so much to see and do.
The zoo in my city is really big. There are different sections of animals depending on where they live and the kind of animals they are. There is also a really awesome petting zoo where you can pet and see the animals close up.
I really enjoyed the reptile section. The snakes, lizards and crocodiles are absolutely amazing. The African safari was my favourite part with lions, tiger, giraffes and elephants. It was really fascinating to watch these animals and we even got to see feeding time. They sure eat a lot! Later, we had a very tasty lunch at the cafe in the zoo. We managed to see most of the sections and I even had time to stop off at the gift shop to get a great book on reptiles. Let’s just say I was really exhausted by the end of the day.
I hope I will go back soon as I learned so much and had a lot of fun. I plan to suggest a trip to the zoo to my school. If you come to visit I promise to take you there. It’s a day you won’t forget!

How are you?

I want to tell you about my trip to the restaurant with my parents.

We have a very old family tradition: once a month we pay a visit to the restaurant for a family dinner. It is a great chance to spend the evening out of our usual setting.

What is more, it is a good chance to have fun and get away from the routine we get tired of and enjoy some time with the family.

A week before that day we choose the restaurant. It is extremely necessary to reserve a table in advance as the place may be overcrowded at the weekend. We mostly book a table for four: my parents, me and my sister.

The tastes differ in our family. So every time we tend to try a new place or a new type of cuisine. We’ve already visited Indian, Italian, French, Thai, Chinese, Japanese and many other restaurants. The tendency now is that Japanese cuisine is the most popular for the sushi. But my family and I prefer Indian or Indonesian food.

When the evening comes we usually take the places, the waiter takes the order and in the beginning we usually have something delicious to drink and spend some time discussing our current issues. We also have a very strong rule: no phones during the dinner.

Luckily, we don’t usually have any problems with our orders. The food usually is tasty and delicious. But it may happen that it is too salty or spicy. In that case we never argue but ask it to be changed. And we never receive a denial. Maybe because we are very polite and smiley.

Yesterday we went to the restaurant. We went to a restaurant next to my house. It was a warm and nice evening, so we went there on foot. Dad booked a table near the window, so we got together without haste. We arrived at the restaurant at 19.00 and the room was almost full.

Mom says she’s so glad to forget about the chores at times and enjoy dinner with the whole family.

The restaurant is located inside a three-story building, which was built in the middle of the 19th century – the unusual location of the institution attracts the attention of not only local residents, but also tourists

First of all, the atmosphere in the restaurant was nice. We were now in a big and beautiful hall. It was really an attractive place.

We went to a restaurant, there was a wardrobe, which initially pleased me and I was even a little embarrassed giving my slightly worn jacket to the cloakroom attendant.

Light arrangement was beautiful. Beautiful paintings were nicely set on the wall. On one wall was the picture of a fashionable girl.

The halls of the restaurant are equipped with upholstered furniture and carpeted floors. In the main hall of the restaurant there is a small functional fireplace, which is not only a local decor, but also warms the visitors of the establishment in the cold season, creating an atmosphere of home comfort. In the same room there is an open grill, on which some dishes from the menu are prepared.

There is a karaoke in the large hall of the restaurant, where guests can demonstrate their vocal skills. It also has excellent audio equipment that makes the voice sound even more vivid.

The guests of the establishment can sit on colored soft sofas that stand at the tables made of wood. Inside the restaurant, all the decoration is done in a classic style: here the floor is covered with parquet made of natural oak boards, and the walls are decorated with brickwork.

In front of the entrance there is a summer terrace where guests can enjoy a light business lunch or a cup of coffee.

There were about twenty tables in the hall. There were four chairs to every table. A menu book lay on each table. In one corner of the hall was the cash counter where a man and a woman were seated on their seats.

Tables of two types are small for 4-6 people, their 15-20% and a traditional Chinese table for 10-14 people. The diameter of the table is up to 2 meters, the tabletop is installed on one leg – a cabinet measuring 70 x 70 cm. A tablecloth is laid on the table

Chinese cuisine is one of my favourites. I know that it’s rather old and full of authentic traditions. Over the time there were added some foreign ingredients, but the core of the cuisine remained unchanged.

The menu can fit any taste. There is a large selection of vegetarian dishes and special dishes for children which include chicken, steak and pasta meals. There are also a lot of fantastic desserts to choose from.

My parents don’t like Japanese food much, so they ordered simply some salads and fried chicken wings. Luckily, they don’t serve only national food in this restaurant.

One of my favourite dishes is the sweet-and-sour chicken. In my opinion, this dish has a very tender taste and I could eat it for lunch, dinner and breakfast. Also, I ordered a portion of traditional rolls and a cup green tea. Everything was rather delicious.

My parents tried a small piece of my rolls and said they weren’t bad. We asked the waiter to bring us the bill and left after paying. It was an excellent evening.

My sister is a vegetarian so we usually look for a place where she can find something for herself. It is good that more and more restaurants suggest food for any customer’s needs nowadays.

For those who try the Chinese for the first time I’d recommend a chicken noodle soup and fortune cookies.

The music was slow and not very loud. Some of the visitors went to dance. And we like to sit and chat more, discuss our goals and plans for the future.

Sometimes I eat out with my friends. We usually go to a fast food place. There is a large shopping center not far from my house and we often go there. When we get hungry, we go to the ground floor where many fast food restaurants are situated. There we usually have a sandwich or a portion of pancakes with a glass of juice.

Prices in this restaurant are affordable. Waiters are very attentive and can assist with the choice of the dishes. We have their loyalty card and receive 5% discount every time I go there. You can also order food online and they will deliver it to your door. The delivery is free of charge.

The menu of this establishment is quite varied, filled with exquisite dishes. For the first time, they offer several options for soups. The restaurant also serves grilled dishes, with a Japanese menu featuring salmon miso soup, chuka salad, sashimi (salmon, red tuna, eel), a wide variety of rolls and sushi, which are also spicy.

If this is your first time in a restaurant, I recommend starting with soups and Gongbao chicken, there is really a lot of it and it is so delicious that it is impossible to stop. I also recommend trying the rolls. There are a lot of them on the menu, they are all different. There are also sweet dishes.

We can have much fun in this restaurant because the food is cooked just in front of us and served by the chefs. We sit around the table for eight people. Our chef brings all ingredients to the table and starts a theatrical performance of preparing the food.

The chef chops and grills meat, fish and vegetables. Then he serves our freshly cooked, juicy and steaming hot food. Both adults and children enjoy the show.

Hours laterwe ask for a bill, pay in cash or with a credit card and have a long walk back home. I really enjoy such evenings for the sense of unity and love. It helps to support good relationship with my parents and allows them to know all about my and my sister’s lives.

So just try spending some time together with your family at the restaurant, and you will notice that your relationship has become much better.

We went to different restaurants. Some of them are located in the city center, and they are more expensive. But we love visiting new places. The service is usually good, the waiters are very polite and welcoming. Mom cooks very well, but we like to try something new and different.

I think dinner in a restaurant is a great opportunity to be with your family in a nice and calm environment, enjoying every moment of communication.
